3rd Grade - The China Movie $1,000
To help support the study of China and an understanding of the culture, the PTA sponsored the trip to go see the new Disney movie.
The Living Museum $1,200
To help celebrate Black History month, the PTA funded the Living museum to come and teach the kids.

Yearly Giveback Summary
Colonial Fair for 4th Grade
Living History is the best way to experience and culminate this social studies unit in fourth grade. It is made possible by the generous Cultural Arts Committee and presented by Adventure Games Incorporated.
Fall Movie Night
Every year a Fall Movie night is provided as a community event for the children to have time with their families/friends and watch a movie.
Field Day Festivities
The PTA provides a DJ and food for a barbeque that is prepared by the custodians and principal.
Hospitality - School Events and Functions
The PTA provides hospitality on all PTA and school events hosted at Columbus Elementary such as the events held by the Committee for Special Education.
Indoor/Outdoor Recess Equipment
As part of the student vote we provide for the purchase of new recess equipment for the students.
Rock the Vote
As a way to encourage learning and democracy we provide the students with an opportunity to use a real voting machine each year at the district budget vote. As part of this we also provide pizza parties or other special prizes to the class with the most voters.
Every year we provide planners to ALL students so that they can efficiently manage the workload of the new school year.
Yearbook & Graduation Festivities for 5th Grade
We provide all 5th graders with yearbooks as well as a "Senior Breakfast" and Spring Fling.

3rd Grade Trip - Botanical Gardens $750
Children and teachers engage in experiences with plants and the natural world, which will help them to construct understandings of plants, their cultural uses and their overall importance to life on Earth.
5th Grade Trip - Broadway $6,000
Children and teachers venture into New York City to enjoy the amazement of the broadway show The Lion King.
Kindness Assembly $750
Providing the understanding of how actions and words can both help and hurt your fellow student is an important part of growing in school.

Provided Chromebooks to enhance the learning environment of the children.
5th Grade - Lion King Workshop
This add on to the 5th grade broadway trip provided students a behind the scenes tour of the set and a meet and greet with cast members to learn more about the production.
Providing clean water to the children is a priority. We have provided 4 combo water fountains that also provide a bottle filler station for saving on waste.
Warm and Fuzzy Kindness Assembly $750
Providing the understanding of how words and actions can both help and hurt your fellow student is an important part of growing in school.
